Product categories are used to group similar products that have different variations.
Example: Tools, Clothes, & Toys
. It is a hierarchical representation of content.
Follow the steps below to set up and manage your categories.Example:
In the steps below, we will set up product categories for a power drill.
1. Select the "ToolsMore" dropdown from the header menu and click "Categories.":
2. Click the green plus button to create a new "Tools" category
3. On the category page, you will see a list of any current categories in a hierarchy format:

D: Add a subcategory to a top level category

3. To add a new category:
(a) Click the plus sign next to categories
(b) Enter the category name and click "Add"
4. Once the master category top level has been created select the new category and click the green plus under the second window plus that appears to the right of the categories drop down to add a "Power Tools" subcategory within the mastertop level category.
5. Name your new subcategory and click "Add"
6. Your subcategory is now created. Click the green button under the next window to add the last subcategory for "Power Drills."
6. The category for "Power Drills" is now created and the category build is complete. Repeat these steps to create additional categories as needed.

To add more subcategories repeat steps 4 & 5.
7. Every category, top level categories and subcategories, have a Completeness Score.
8. To move a subcategory to a different top level category, select the subcategory, click the "Move" button:
Then click the new top level category and click the "Save" button and your subcategory will be moved successfully:
