Product variants are used to manage products having different variations, like size, color, etc.
Follow the steps below to set up your variants.

Example: Setting up variants for cordless tools
In the steps below, we will setup variants for a cordless tool product with multiple power options.

The bellow data will be used in this example:

SKUVoltageBattery Capacity
10112v4.0Ah
10218v5.1Ah
10320v5.4Ah
10420v5.8Ah

Before we setup, the first step is to create a "Variation Group" for Cordless Tools. This variation group has two attributes: voltage, battery_capacity.

The reason we first create a variation group is so as we add more and more products, we don't have to keep adding the attributes manually.

Part 1: Setup the Variation Group
1.1 From the header menu, click on "Tools" and select "Attribute Groups"

1.2. Click the  "Add Attribute Group" button

1.3. Enter "Attribute Group Name" (Ex: Tools, Clothes) and check the box for "Variant" and click "Save".

Part 2: Setup the Variant Attributes

2.1. Now click "Attributes" from the header menu.

2.2. Click "Add Attribute" and select "Picklist" to create options list of values. Click "Continue."

2.3. Enter the attribute name (Ex: Color, Size, Voltage).

    * Keep the validation level as "Optional" unless this selection will be required to check out.

2.4. Be sure the "Write" boxes for "Gated Viewer" & "Open Viewer" are NOT selected. Click continue.

2.5. Check the boxes for the of the attribute groups you want to add the variant too. Click "Continue.:

2.6. Click the "Attribute" button on the header box and locate and select the previously created attribute.

Part 3: Add variants to products

3.1 Select the "Variants" tab and select "Change Variation Group"

3.2 Click the corresponding box of the previously made variation group. Click "Save."

3.3. In the "Variations" tab select "New Variant"
*This step will need to be done for each variant needed to be added

3.4 Enter variant name and select the appropriate option in the drop-down menus. Click "Continue."

3.6. Check "Core Attributes" and click "Save."

3.5. Variant Added
