Pagination in inDesign

Step 1: 

Insert field specifiers into frames and create the template

Select all the frames and group them <- Important



Step 2:

Select the above template, and go to Window -> Pagination Rules



Step 3: Set the below settings

Paginate: Once per record

Page Orientation: Left

Fitting: Grow and flow

Continuation: Grow and flow

Remove Blank Lines for Empty fields: yes

 

Save this document as {file a}. This will make it easy so you can go back and adjust styling.


Step 4: Click on New -> EasyCatalog Library. Call this file b.
Drag and Drop the template into the library. Save the library file. Call this {file b}

Step 5: Setup the document.
Create a new document.
Go to master pageCreate the 4 boxes you need as text frames that the layout will flow into.Save the document. Call this {file c}
Step 6:Save and close all files.Then open file c.Open the document from  file c.Go to page 1, click on cmd+shift and double clickGo to easy catalog panel
Select a bunch of itemsThen click on flyout menu, and click on "Paginate"In the popup, select file b.Click ok
