Attaching Derived Images & Assets

A derived asset is an asset that the item inherited from its family. This is useful for when the items in the family have all the same assets. 

  1. Navigate to the family you wish to derive the assets from



  2. Make sure the Assets you want derived down to the item level are set up correctly by following these instructions 
  3. Open the Copy tab and find the fields you want to upload the asset to
  4. Enter in the predetermined formula of the assets you wish to upload



  5. Click save
  6. Navigate to the "Assets" tab 
  7. Click the Green "Upload" tab



  8. Select the "Assets follow a file naming convention" radio button



  9. In the "Select field" drop down, Find the asset you wish to upload a file for


  10. Choose file for upload that is following the naming convention listed in the Copy tab



  11. Click Save.
  12. Navigate to an Item of that family



  13. Navigate to the Copy tab
  14. Find the fields that are derived
  15. These values should be the same as the family and should be greyed out meaning the user is not allowed to change them



  16. Navigate to the Assets tab and make sure Assets are the same as those in the family
